A portrait of the artist film cum concert documentary, 'Jon Dee Graham: Swept Away' is the story of a largely overlooked figure in American music. A local hero in Austin, Texas, Graham struggles to build a national name for himself. Appearances in the film from roots rock heroes Alejandro Escovedo and James McMurtry, and also Andrew Duplantis of the band Son Volt. National rock critic and journalist Geoffrey Himes (NY Times, Washington Post, Paste, No Depression) also appears as does Katherine Cole, influential host of Voice of America's 'Roots and Branches' radio program.

Home
In 1997 Mike Rosenthal left his job as newspaper reporter in Maine and moved to Austin, TX, to pursue music full time. In 2000 he released his debut self-titled album, a warmly reviewed collection of heartfelt, country-inspired songs about break ups and lonely winters back east. Roughly two years later, he released Movin’ In, an ode to pure pop with a plush production sound and little trace of the twang that suffused earlier efforts. Most recently, his newest album Home is complete. It marks a natural return to the plain-spoken intimacy of his early work. Clean arrangements feature an ever-present acoustic guitar, warm keyboards, melodic bass lines and conversational vocals. Yet, stylistically, the album remains true to Rosenthal’s undying love of FM radio rock. A close listen tells the story of a man dealing with personal change, finding love, negotiating loss and, perhaps most of all, finding his place.

Big Sweet Life: The Songs of Jon Dee Graham
A truly amazing limited-edition two-disc set (CD and DVD), Big Sweet Life features Austin artists performing Jon Dee songs with all proceeds going to The Willie Graham/Legg Perthes Fund.
Jon Dee's son Willie has developed Legg Perthes, a rare childhood form of avascular necrosis of the hip. For reasons unknown, the head of the femur loses its blood circulation and dies. The Graham family lost insurance coverage when their insurance provider filed Chapter 11. Now Willie's condition is considered pre-existing by other companies, making him uninsurable. They may be looking at several years of treatment, physical therapy and surgery.
The CD was recorded live at the Continental Club by Oscar & Grammy-winning engineer/producer Chet Himes on June 24, when the Austin music community banded together for a benefit concert. Artists include The Resentments, Ian McLagan,Steve Poltz, Bob Schneider, Alejandro Escovedo, Charlie Sexton, James McMurtry, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Matt The Electrician, The New Hot Damn (Kacy Crowley, Trish Murphy and Renee Woodward), Honky w/Jon Dee, Beaver Nelson, Kathy McCarty, and Walter Tragert. The CD also features an original song by Willie Graham called "Rock 'n Roll" which was performed by Jon Dee, Scrappy Jud Newcomb, Alejandro Escovedo and Charlie Sexton.
The DVD was produced by News 8 Austin's Andy Langer and features rooftop performances on July 27 & August 3 by Patty Griffin, Ray Benson, Kelly Willis, Bruce Robison, David Garza, Darden Smith, Jud Newcomb w/ the Tosca String Quartet, The Gourds, Jack Ingram, Jeff Klein, Elizabeth McQueen, and Terri Hendrix & Lloyd Maines. DVD extras include performances by Jon Dee and the Resentments. Also included is Andy's 22 minute interview with Jon Dee that details the cause that brought everyone together.

Rival band of THE EL ORBITS, Houston’s Best Cover Band as elected by the Houston Press readers in 2001, The El Toros sharpened up their pencils and wrote the 6 songs that comprise the combo’s first CD, “Thrills Galore.” Hits such as “Toros Stomp”, “Window of Love,” and “Aladdin’s Amp” showcase the band’s penchant for hooks, not holes, in their songs. Jud Newcomb, known to many as "Scrappy," has been a respected guitar player, songwriter and producer on the Austin music scene for seventeen years. He has played and/or recorded with the Loose Diamonds, Beaver Nelson, Ian McLagan, Bob Schneider, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Matt the Electrician, Seela, Walter Tragert and the Resentments, among others. His first release was 2003's well-received "Turbinado." "Byzantine" features many of his friends, including Bruce Hughes (Bob Schneider, the Resentments), Seela and Ian McLagan.
